  • December 2008: 40 new Grey Literature reports released
    The last month has seen the addition 40 new grey literature reports to the Library of Unpublished Field Work Reports (or Grey Literature library). This month AOC Archaeology are heavily represented with reports covering excavations in such places as London, Oakham, Upminster and Airdrie. As usual these works cover all manner of time periods and site types. This brings the total number of reports available from the library to 2636, truly contains something to interest every archaeologist.

  • December 2008: ALSF 100 archive landmark reached
    The ADS and English Heritage are pleased to announce that the Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF) project archive has reached the landmark figure of 100 project archives deposited and released online. Highlights include the reports generated from fieldwork and post-excavation analysis at nationally significant sites such as Thornborough, Wasperton and Piercebridge; a collection of reports and data generated by Quaternary studies such as the Palaeolithic Rivers of Southwest Britain; landscape based surveys of the archaeological resource of aggregate producing areas as well as an unparalleled collection of reports relating to current research concerning marine archaeology in English waters.

  • December 2008: London Archaeologist archive released
    The Archaeology Data Service and the London Archaeologist Association are pleased to announce the online availability of London Archaeologist archive. Published by the London Archaeologist Association since 1968 it covers every major archaeological discovery, period, event and issue. Content includes excavation reports, historical articles, artefact and finds studies, environmental archaeology reports, exhibition reports, book reviews, news and commentary. The online archive at the ADS includes digitised articles, along with selected indexes, from 1968-2005 (volumes 1-10).For anyone specifically interested in the history, heritage or archaeology of the capital, London Archaeologist is essential reading, however, it also has a wide appeal to all archaeologist whatever their specialism given the depth and breadth of topics covered.
